Rooks of Burgundy is historical fiction set 1016/1017 in the Duchy of Burgundy. Raban is a young serf farmer in a small fief. Spring is freshly come and the world beginning again, and so the story opens.

Stupid Self-clearing Alphasmart
A horrible terrible cataclysmic tragedy just happened. I finally broke 40,000 words. I have a portable writing tool like a cross between a laptop and a palm pilot. When I went to download what I had written to crystals computer to email it to myself, the Alphasmart froze. Eventually it unfroze but it had deleted everything that was on it, including time and date. It's as good as new which is the worst thing imaginable. I'm only writing about it now because if I don't I will break the Alphasmart in half and I might regret that later. About 3000 words were lost and I will never be able to write them again exactly the same.

That's to bad. I sort-of know how you feel I had something like that happen to me before. But your right, it's better that you don't break the Alphasmart in half.

something about the name Alphasmart reminds me of the AquaScum tank cleaner on Finding Nemo. You may have something in common with the little purple fish who shook his fin saying "curse you aquascum".
I believe something of that sort did come out of my mouth, yes.
